MARINE ALGAE PRICE LIST 2004

(Effective from 1/2/04)

 

 

Species available at short notice:

Skeletonema costatum - Chain diatom, fast growing, good food value but is prone to clump /collapse (especially at high pH). Will settle on bottom surfaces of tanks.

Tetraselmis sueccica - large green flagellate. Very reliable /easy to culture.  Will settle on bottom and sides.

Pavlova lutheri - (synonym Monochrysis). Small brown flagellate, reliable.  Less likely to settle.

Isochrysis (strains C-ISO or T-ISO).  Similar to Pavlova with different lipid profile.

Species requiring 2 weeks notice

Chaetoceros gracilis -  diatom.

Thalasiosira pseudonana (synonym 3H) - diatom, summer only

Rhinomonas (Rhodamonas) sp. - red flagellate.

Chaetoceros calcitrans

BULK ALGAE

From continuous flow (chemostat) system using pasteurised seawater.  The cell density would be about 3000 cells / microlitre (Skeletonema or Pavlova), 300cells Tetraselmis.  They are not sterile, but are completely free of vibrio when plated on TCBS agar.
